I love LotHS to bits, but I've always thought that it's ship combat system is just a little lacking. Was thinking about this the other day and struck on the above brainwave. Man'O'war always suffered in large games from having too many ship templates and charts, but you're unlikely to ever have more than two or maybe three ships in most LotHS games -hardly a burden to give them their own damage templates. Would make life more interesting than just stripping hull points. Of course, before I set about doing this I have to ask – has anyone heard of it being done before? If so, where? It would save me a bunch of work if some other blighter had got there first… |

Not sure what LotHS is but i have used the MoW system for age of sail and pirate games very successfully. I ran participation games for the NWS using it a few years back. If that sounds like something that would help you let me know and I can send you my notes on the game |

LotHS = Legends of the High Seas. link I haven't heard of that being done before, Dreamwarder, but as a long-time MoW fan, (like, from the first previews in White Dwarf), I see no reason why it wouldn't work. |

Don't know much about MoW, but Sailpower is a good set for age of sail naval battles with just a few vessels. I agree, the LotHS rules aren't my cup of tea for naval battles. |
