I am looking for rules to support 30 miniatures a side, that can support vehicles and robots. I want a fast play somewhat simple rules set. I have Chain reaction and TW but while they seem interesting aren't inspiring me.

Anything out there…?

Vehicles, walkers, monsters, all that stuff is covered. PLays in the style of Rogue Trader but cleaner and neater.

Defiance from Majestic 12 may be a bit too complex for you tho it's not complicated IMCO and as a bonus you don't need to absorb a million unit specific special affectations once you've mastered the core rules. Can handle smaller or larger forces than 30 models per side too and has vehicles and robotic style troopers. The core rules are free but you have to pay for the force generation tools part.

Since it is not well known, I will take the opportunity to mention LaserGrenadiers. We have had a lot of battles with similar sized force. In fact, our house campaign rules specify forces of 30 infantry (including wardrones and warbots) and 6 vehicles (tanks, APCs, battledrones, etc.). So far we have had over fifty battles in five campaigns with that force structure. Allowances are made when several battlegroups converge on one sector, particularly at the end of a campaign.

The LaserGrenadiers rules are available on my blog at lasergrenadier.wordpress.com. There is a lot of detail in the rules, but the basic mechanics are very simple. This is not an RPG-style game where individual soldiers have a chart of personal attributes and heroes are the last figures standing on the board. While vehicles can take multiple hits and are damaged incrementally, soldiers are eliminated by one hit that penetrates their armor.
