…J.K. Rowling Herself.

"James and Lily Potter obviously weren't the first people with that name, nor were they the last. Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has just written a history of the Potter family, which includes a link to how they got the Invisibility Cloak.

The writing is over on the official Potter site, Pottermore, and you can read the full thing here. It's a nice summation of how the Potters fit into both the wizarding and muggle worlds (advances in medicine, importance in government) as well as the link between the Potters and Peverells, the believed original owners of the Deathly Hallows.

It seems the granddaughter of Ignotus Peverell, Iolanthe Peverell, married Harry Potter's "direct descendant" Hardwin Potter. Iolanthe didn't have any brothers so she was passed the cloak by her grandfather and then she and her husband kept the tradition of passing it down, until finally James Potter got married and had a son, and Harry Potter got it.

Harry, it turns out, had a pretty important family, even if they weren't particularly famous. That would change, of course, once Lord Voldemort killed James and Lily and left only their son surviving.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, this new writing by Rowling on Pottermore is part of a major relaunch and redesign. Part of that relaunch will feature reporting on all aspects of the wizarding world, including the currently in production film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as well as the stage show, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It seems Pottermore will continue to be a must visit site for fans craving more from the world of Harry Potter."

I read all seven books and saw the first movie.
I read the books more out of wanting to see what happened next than out of any appreciation of their quality.

Many things annoy me about the series. Like revealing that Dumbledore was gay. Not in the books, oh no. AFTER all the books were written and published and sold. Courage? Not if you wait until you have maxed out on your cash haul.

Then killing off some of my favorite characters off scene. Tonks didn't deserve more than an "Oh, by the way Tonks and the werewolf bought the farm."???

I could say a lot more, but the most annoying thing is Harry Potter himself. An obnoxious spoiled self centered entitled brat.
