I am painting my first french unit. French line, bardin regulation. Its a Front Rank batalion pack (FNBP14 and FNBP15) On the Voltigeurs there are no epaulets – or at least they are the same as on the fusiliers and does not have the part bending over the shoulders as the grenadiers. In all inlustrations I can find the Voltigeurs had epaulets like the grenadies (in different colours). Am I mistanken? |

I think regulations said shoulder tabs but many units would have kept theirs. So you are good to go with these as shoulder tabs rather than fringed epaulettes |

The shoulder straps should be blue with yellow piping. |
