I'm sorry, but mudguard-to-mudguard tanks look just as silly to me in a science fantasy game such as this as they do in historical wargames.

Nice AAR. I do enjoy reading those PHGamer.

We ran a small game Saturday One company of US armor with infantry. 1105 points vs 1075 for the Martians. A very bloody victory for the humans.

MajorB, share your pain, but fortunately, to a lesser degree. I can get by with an 'oh, well.'

Decided slug match to the end; the steadfast humans brought to my mind words from another battle. 'Stay on target. STAY ON TARGET.'

The hub to hub is going to happen unless everything is totally proportional. In this case the ground scale. A 6 foot board only represents 730 feet. So to make things proportional you can either increase the table size to something not supportable or you can shrink the figures to the point where they are not as cool to play with.
You choose.

Good fun. Haven't seen the British in action yet. Looks like they were effective, but not pleased to see that machine guns are still somewhat disproportionately powerful. Not sure how a .303 round pierces the side of a cylinder built to withstand atmospheric entry…

Machine guns are not effective initially. After the target takes many hits, and its effective armor goes way down, that they begin to shine.

Major B:

Looks pretty much like hub-to-hub to me :)

Experience is best teacher. A few heat Ray template hits tends to solve all hub to hub issues PDQ.
