Painting up troops for his conflict and I'm curious as to what the Russians carried as flags into battle? If any…

Did they use the Russian national tricolor or the same looking standards as in Napoleonic days? I found some cool Russian battle flags for the RussoJapanese war at one wargaming site but they stated that those standards were issued in the 1880s so wouldn't be those.

I am away from home but will check when I get back – I have a couple of books on this conflict in my library

All my sources indicate Flags like those carried in Crimea.

Here is how I represented the Russian Army in 10mm

And here are the flags

Major sources for me were the painter's works from the era, or based on the era

There is a image on the net from a Russian book on the war that shows the Russians praying and has a number of flags in the background.

Thanks, Travlos, pretty convincing arguments to me. I will use flags like those then. Also I enjoy reading your battle reports too!
