Last winter there was a flurry of posts by the gentlemen who purchased the various Thistle & Rose ranges, but I haven't seen or heard of anything for more than six months. Are these back in production yet? Will they be soon if not? |

They are not ready but it should not be much longer. I got some samples from the owner to make a Rus army for an 800 AD tournament. I've been slowly painting them. So far I've painted up two stands of archers (this is for DBA) a stand of blades, and one of Light Horse. Nice figures, very animated which helps with a small force like a DBA army. Some of the faces are great (sadly my painting is not). So as my mum used to say, patience is a virtue. |

Mark is correct, we are getting closer. This is still a hobby for my partner Brian and I, so family first. It is a big line with almost 900 original figures. We are gamers too, so we are probably being a bit fiddly in terms of starting off on the right foot. We have proved out the production molds, started to create army packs for DBA, and have some painted armies which we played with at Recruits last weekend and hope to bring to Fall In to show people in the flesh. Next steps including the getting the casting equipment and the website up. We'll probably put up a Facebook page once the equipment is ordered and give updates there. Here are the lines that we expect to have. Ancients: Gauls, Gallatians, Early Germans, Franks, Sassanid Persians Dark Ages: Vikings, Normans, Saxons, Picts, Welsh, Irish, Scots, Eastern Europeans Medieval: Early and Late Crusaders, Teutonic Knights, Turcomans, Islamic Persians, Mongols Other: Westerners, Hussites Thanks for your interest. We played a couple of games today and one guy has a painted DBA Rus army using T&R figures. They are very nice figures. It got me itching to get some. |

Isnt this the line that had the "rude scots"? |

Yes this is the line that had the "rude scots". I have a very large Galatian and Gaullic armies of Thistle and Rose, when he first came up to the Penn-Harris. I still really like those figures. I do have some Hussites that I would like to pick up. I am excited to hear that they will be available again. |

Yes, 2 rude Scots jefritrout, Thanks for the mention about the Galatians. We are getting professionally painted DBA armies put together so we can have lots of eye candy on our website. Here are some pics of Galatians and Early Germans link link Bill |

How Crazy that you all mention this! I just bought a large Scots Common army off Ebay a few weeks ago. I was trying to pinpoint where the figures came from as they had some terrific and unique poses. They do indeed feature two different poses of 'rude scots'. One figure is mooning the enemy and the other is flipping them the bird! Pretty neat! The models are high quality and I would definitely buy their other ranges in the future. Glad to hear they will be back in business. |

Yes sir it was a painted army. I am in the middle of rebasing it as the quality of basing wasn't up to my standards. The paint job is very good and I would say above the average of what you see out there today. The only thing is I don't know if he mixed models from different people or if they were exclusively from Thistle & Rose. It should take me 3-4 weeks to finish the basing (there's roughly 150 stands to the army). My email is stantonlackey@cox.net. Email me if you want pictures now and I can certainly supply some when they are finished. I'm out of town until next Tuesday. |

Fondly remember the T&R line for Vikings vs Saxons game using original Pig Wars rules (just out in a 4th edition, I see). Not too long ago I found some bottom of the bag T&R figures in a closet while looking for something else. |

I loved the names of the figures so I hope that is continued. And I need some Norman cavalry to go with the infantry I acquired a few years back. And maybe some Hussites … |

Are there any pics on the web? I could find any. I did, however, find an army list for Scots that included light cavalry and lots of axemen..curious to say the least! |

Hi, any more news on the Thistle and Rose range? Would really like to buy some of your Islamic Persian/Timurid range of figures. Thanks Chas |

I have some original Thistle & Rose Mongols and they are very animated figures, which I like in 15/18mm scale! They do make for a good looking DBA army as well. |
