I never really bothered with this, but lately I just see too much stuff outside my interest areas. So I just went through it and unchecked all the stuff I have no interest in and my TMP experience has immediately been improved. It's certainly one of the greatest, uncelebrated features of TMP. All those boards whose creation I lamented are now out of sight and I'll never be exposed to them again. aaahhhh! Bliss! |

I agree. I think that is a great facility together with the Ignore and stifle facilities. I hope the mew 4.0 version keeps all those options. Regards |

I hope the mew 4.0 version keeps all those options. They may not be available at launch, but will certainly be an early upgrade. |

It is definitely a must have! I certainly would not have time to sift through messages on boards that I have no interest in. In sum the lack of this filtering feature would seriously degrade my participation in TMP. It is likely the same for many other TMPers. |

I am with IronDuke596 on this. I see a poll coming up. |

Right now, all of my "Display on Homepage" options are checked. Is there a convenient way to switch them all to unchecked? |

Oh great. The Rules Directory will be visible, the whole vast horde of it, whether I want to see it or not. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 17 Jan 2017 8:47 a.m. PST |
Winston, you can easily turn it off or control how much is shown. |
Texas Jack | 17 Jan 2017 9:24 a.m. PST |
Bill would it be possible to turn off whole genres of rules, such as sci-fi and fantasy? |

Of course, the ability to fine tune filter which posts to see and which ones not to is a function of having more boards. |

Bill would it be possible to turn off whole genres of rules, such as sci-fi and fantasy? Your global preferences should apply to the Rules Directory. |

Is there a trick to getting Global Preferences to work? I don't see anything different when I change my global preferences. |
Texas Jack | 18 Jan 2017 1:45 p.m. PST |
I have my global preferences set but I still had to manually uncheck the genres I was not interested in. |

Is there a trick to getting Global Preferences to work? I don't see anything different when I change my global preferences. Shouldn't be… (fingers crossed) I have my global preferences set but I still had to manually uncheck the genres I was not interested in. Uncheck them where? Or do you mean you unchecked specific boards? |
Texas Jack | 18 Jan 2017 10:54 p.m. PST |
I mean going through each rule set on each board I didnīt want and unchecking them. There has got to be an easier way! |
Saurocet | 20 Jan 2017 5:52 a.m. PST |
"There has got to be an easier way! " Yep, I agree. With topics being split up between rule specific questions and scenarios and media and…so on…I really would like to focus on the things I'm interested in. But having to go through all the lists and uncheck everything isn't worth the time. I may have to go back to Yahoo! groups, which I really, really don't want to do. |
