I'm looking for advise on breeches colours for French infantry during the French and Indian War.

Most references I have seen suggest the off white/grey colour the same as the jacket.

However I have seen figures painted with blue breeches which does look good in contrast to the white/grey jacket.

The Compagnies Franches de la Marine wore blue breeches; your line regiments should have the off-white breeches.

Chatrand has some good out there. It made my research into the French uniforms easier for my book on the Chickasaw-French Wars of the 1700s.
Another book which can be found in a lot of museum gift shops is "La Marine:the French colonial soldier, 1745-61"
