It's glorious. Link: link

Mike from Space Rocks was awesome enough to send us the first Nebulon B Escort frigate off the production line in order to make it for our epic playthrough of the Heroes of the Aturi Cluster (Be sure to remember our code if you think you might order one! IFF2015 saves you 10%). When I cracked the box open, I literally "woo'd" at the top of my lungs due to sheer awesomeness. This thing is HUGE, and it's ready to go in seconds.

Dom! I was just looking at your side to see if any decals would work on this beasty :)

Nothing springs to mind, sorry – I've avoided sci-fi to date, as I'd prefer not to end up treading in any IP minefields.

So what sort of stats does that thing have for X-Wing?

…but in an awesome good way!

Disco Joe17 Sep 2015 12:56 p.m. PST

Nice but way too expensive for me.

Mako1117 Sep 2015 1:13 p.m. PST

That is pretty impressive, but so is the price.

$200 USD – $260 USD???

Looks like a good candidate for a scratchbuild project, with some doweling, or tubing, perhaps a shampoo bottle for the nose, and probably a coated foam block for the engine section.

Much more doable, if you have some spare time, and are short on funds.

Only Warlock17 Sep 2015 2:59 p.m. PST

Impressive…most impressive.

Mako1117 Sep 2015 4:47 p.m. PST

Probably cheaper to get a custom wooden one built from a supplier on eBay.

HUBCommish17 Sep 2015 5:04 p.m. PST

Wow Steve, that thing is awesome!

$210 USD is a steal. I'd much rather spend that than hours and hours to build and paint such a magnificent beast!

Mako1117 Sep 2015 7:55 p.m. PST

Oh, it's a steal alright……..

It's well out of my budget at the moment, but if I had cash spare I wouldn't think twice…. If I were to value my time at minimum wage, I know the "cost" of a scratch build that size and quality would run into many hundreds….

Norrins18 Sep 2015 2:52 a.m. PST

Of course the real question is, how does the pilot get into the attached X-Wing?

Personal logo Doms Decals Sponsoring Member of TMP18 Sep 2015 3:07 a.m. PST

Force field tube isn't it? I do remember it being on the schematics in one of the books.

Norrins18 Sep 2015 5:10 a.m. PST

These plans suggest a docking tube –

That would explain how the Falcon is attached at the end of TESB. Just can't see how an X-Wing pilot gets in. The force field tube makes sense, but you still need the canopy to open.

indierockclimber18 Sep 2015 6:04 a.m. PST

Nerd alert: The Nebulon B is an Imperial Vessel, and those attachments would've been made to fit TIE fighters (with the hatch on the top) I assume. The Rebels probably had to heavily modify the docking tube to allow the fighters to connect.

David Manley18 Sep 2015 6:12 a.m. PST

If i had the cash I would have one ASAP

Disco Joe19 Sep 2015 6:02 a.m. PST

Steven, are you sure it is an Imperial Vessel because on Wiki they say it was also used by the rebel alliance in addition to the Imperial forces.

Common on both sides, but he's right that it was *designed* for the Empire, so docking collars and suchlike would be designed to fit Imperial kit, not Rebel.

So true, 'originally' this was intended to be an Emperial warship. But (as the story line goes) she turned out to be so versatile, a number of them were stolen by Alliance agents from their ship yards upon completion. Others were captured in combat, while a few crews just out right defected to the rebel cause. (You know they made Vader's Chirstmas List) LOL.

Now as for this 'miniature' (somehow that word doesnt seem to be proper for this monster). Its amazing to see this IN SCALE to X and Y wings. But like many of you, its just "Far, Far, Away" from my budget. (
