…Biggest Mystery.

"Fans of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner have spent years discussing and debating one particular mystery: is Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard a person, or is he actually a replicant? Different people behind the production have provided different answers to this question, and on the big screen the truth remains ambiguous. It's a very big part of Blade Runner's legacy, and one that Blade Runner 2 director Denis Villeneuve has full intentions to cherish in the making of the sequel.

Villeneuve's new film Sicario had a big premiere up at the Toronto International Film Festival this past week, and it was while being interviewed by Crave Online that the director revealed how he will be approaching Blade Runner's greatest mystery. Asked if Deckard is a human or a replicant, the Canadian filmmaker first declined to answer – saying "Now that I am on the other side of the fence I cannot answer" – but then he followed-up by discussing his approach to that matter in the sequel:.."

Bladerunner 2

What's that you say? A new idea in Hollywood?

No, surely not…

Frankly, I always thought that the original was overly lauded so I'm not that bothered on the 'sacred cows' front but I am astonished at the grave robbing that comes out of Tinsel town nowadays…

Having said that (and contradicting myself somewhat) I think the new Star wars films might be fun and – self evidently – simply cannot be worse than the Lucas prequels…

So who knows? Perhaps Harrison Ford can pull it off twice in a row!

Blade Runner 2! Pardon my French, will F up the whole thing, PKD never wrote a sequel, it was not needed and neither is this, BL was from 'Do Androids Dream Electric Sheep' book which was masterful Scifi, as was BL Rid Scott shone like a star going nova in that one I don't think anyone can make a sequel and its going to be c**p we all know it. Why not do something originalish (that a word:) and just make a TV series about Blade Runners and their (film noir) problem on a downtrodden filthy LA sort of like a futuristic downtrodden cops story with a new episode every week where the main character and sidekick goes looking for the elusive replicants, add a mysterious central theme and hey presto a troupe that has been given a great new feel. HEY Horrorywood You listening?? !! Don't mess with BR dudes.
Cheers LOL rant over.

Here I thought Harrison Ford had to be a replicant with his stiff acting :o) Please no hate mail, I still watch Blade Runner every time it is on TV now, great movie.

I do like Blade Runner. But I'm afraid a BL2, will probably be a bust. For example, H/wood has recently released a MAN FROM UNCLE movie. Not that the original was a work of art, etc., however the "new" movie was a disappointment to old school U.N.C.L.E. fans … So again, I have little faith that BL2 will be a great movie …

another possible clue that Deckard is a replicant

Leon: "How old am I?"

Deckard: "I don't know!"

Leon: "My birthday is April 10th, 2017. How long do I
live?"

Deckard: "Four years."

Leon: "More than you! Painful to live in fear, isn't it?
Wake up, time to die!"

If we assume that replicants are created as identical
series maybe Leon recognized a 'deckard' series replicant and was telling him that he's going to die right there while leon will get to live his full four years.

I have to say Sean Young did the best acting job of her life in that movie myself, she didn't even have to act she was Rachel, yeah she couldn't act for toffee so it was perfect casting, most of the parts were woodenly acted but it was very much a film noir Dick Spade type of scene. Still one of the best (I loved the original cut too with the over dialogue very dime store detective- I'd love to get a copy of that again)
Cheers and long live the Atari brand :)

The Bleeped texting Midichlorian Paradox.

I did care to know the mechanics of how the Force works.

Nor do I want the question answered; is Deckard a skin job.

Shallow ass people. The mystery is the best part.

This is why artistic license and big Hollywood egos screw stuff up. The whole point of the original story was the the artificial humans had more human feelings then the actual humans. As Harrison Ford always argued, if Deckerd is a robot who cares about a story about robots killing robots?
Where is the human element ?
