When I was young, I received one Christmas the motorized James Bond Road Race set. I gave it to a child with a disability when I got married. No regrets, but I missed the terrain of the set. The cars themselves didn't run so well.

This year I found at an extremely reasonable price, the six terrain boards, sans cars, power-supply and everything necessary to have a real road race set.

Soooo, having some 1/43 cars of the 007 series including an Aston Martin DB5 and a 1964 Mustang, I think it would be of more use as what I loved most about the road race, terrain for a game.

With that said, does anyone know of a set of road combat rules suitable for a road duel ala Goldfinger?

I'd honestly grab the Shadowrun RPG rules and use the vehicle combat rules from there.

You could always use the old Steve Jackson game Car Wars.

I would recommend the Machinas rules form Two Hour Wargames. If you ignore the post-apoc background they are a pretty good set of generic vehicle combat rules.

Pulp Alley has vehicle rules in one of the supplement books. There was a post on Lead Adventures of a playtest scenario of two vehicles dueling & racing.
