"The Merry Band of Freaks Trailer: AHS: Hotel" Topic

"Recently, Lady Gaga officially changed her name on Instagram to The Countess and her bio to "Owner of ‘Hotel' Cortez in Los Angeles," and in Ryan Murphy world that is exactly what's happening. American Horror Story: Hotel just got its first semi-full-length trailer for the upcoming fifth season and it is every bit the parade of freaks we hoped it would be. All your friends are here wearing new period-appropriate costumes and vamping briefly but fabulously for their seconds-long introductions. Angela Bassett is walking sex as Ramona Royale. Sarah Paulson, who is the official Supreme of AHS now that Jessica Lange is has "stepped down," is creepy as hell as Hypodermic Sally. Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny are simply being siblings, but since this is a Ryan Murphy production they're probably having sex or something. And there are many more, but don't miss The Countess herself, Ms. Gaga, at the very end of the clip. As we said before, the Countess is the proprietor of the Hotel Cortez, but what we didn't tell you is that she sustains herself on a hearty diet of sex and blood and that she kills people with a stylish chain mail glove that was just featured with her on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.

Murphy said two huge things during his panel at Comic-Con International in July. First, he strongly implied to the audience that Jessica Lange will be back for future AHS seasons, but whether that is because she promised she would or because Murphy completely trusts his powers of persuasion we don't yet know. Second, he also said every season of AHS is absolutely connected and that he knows when and how the series will resolve itself, at which time the links will all become clear. He said the roadmap really started surfacing with Pepper appearing in Asylum and then Freakshow and it will only become more engrained from there.
