Yesterday members of the FUNNY LITTLE WARS Yahoo Group re-fought the Battle of Waterloo on a lawn in Central London. Approximately 2,000(!) 54mm-scale figures were used, and my AAR can be read on my blog here = link
For a slightly different perspective from one of the organisers (Tim Gow), have a look here = megablitzandmore.blogspot.com as well. |

Great fun! A pity the Prussians didn't get a chance to join the fun, but that's still doing it in the grand old manner. 'Hurrahs' all round for you chaps! |

MacrossMartin, The Prussians were actually fighting around Wavre … but I never got a chance to visit that part of the battlefield because it was a long way from where I was on the right flank. I understand that the Prussians held the French with part of their army so that the bulk could move to support their allies. |

Ditto Tango 2 3, I wasn't to bad yesterday, but my lower back and knees have been giving me a bit of trouble today, and have been a bit stiff. Despite that, it was well worth it … and I would be willing to do it again. |

As 'Marshal Blucher' I can assure you that the Prussians did join in the fun! The Corps defending Wavre did so without losing a single figure (grapeshot and close range musketry is very effective…). By the end of the day the bulk of the Prussian army was closing on Plancenoit and had linked up with the British left flank. The view across the lawn was spectacular! |

Doc Ord, That wasn't a problem … but if it did happen, I suspect that it would have been seen as an act of God! |

English Thegn, The sight of the Prussian 'Men in Black' marching across the lawn was one of the most impressive signs I have seen during a wargame … and I didn't have my camera to hand! |

This looks like a Grand Day Out! Were you playing in a location where passers-by could enjoy the spectacle? |

Well, managed to join the yahoo group – now to understand how to use it. Is it just me, or does Yahoo have a strange way of showing threads etc? I am struggling to make head nor tail of the threads at present. And to think that I have moaned about TMP's "look"… |
