I have written a report on my blog about my experience attending Connections UK 2015.

Bob:

Thanks for sharing this. I am interested in several of the sessions such as "Synergies between Hobby and Professional Wargaming".

You wrote on your blog:
"By the end I felt that the synergy between professional and recreational wargames is finally beginning to be developed within a proper framework and its value is being recognised."

Could you elaborate on that? I know that there have been some British commercial/hobby designers that felt quite differently about past Conferences.

McLaddie,

I made my statement based upon the conversations that I had with several other recreational wargamers/wargame designers (like me) who were at the conference. The professional side of wargaming is beginning to take on board the fact that they can learn from our vast experience … and that some of the games they design have commercial possibilities. I think that they may also have realised the some non-military hobby wargamers can be potential Red Team players.
