I love Alien and Predator (not the sequal, Predarors was OK) but I can't stand AvP… Nice figs however. |

Not a comment on the game, just the very idea of mixing the two. Stupid idea. |

The "full review" linked by Tango 01 isn't a review per se but yet another product description/press release that I've seen numerous times already. I've been sorely tempted to buy into this game because I play the video games and love the Aliens/Colonial Marines/Predator universe, but due to its price and UK shipping charge (up to £50.00 GBP to the US), I decided to read about it on Boardgamegeek first before taking the plunge. The impression I got is that: The miniatures are fantastic and highly detailed, albeit in brittle resin; The other components (cards, tiles, templates, etc.) are "cheaply made" compared to Space Hulk; The rules are unclear and poorly written (some think this is par for the course for a Prodos product). One commentator on Boardgamegeek says it's hard to explain to someone else. Also, there is a chance the box may be opened by customs when shipped to destinations outside the UK. Even though I'm still "on the fence" on whether to purchase this game, my initial enthusiasm has been dampened somewhat. I think at the very least I'll wait til a US distributor picks up the game. |

Yea, brittle resin doesn't do it for me. If they do those in metal, I'll want some. A shame about the quality of the other components, and the poorly written rules. Still, you could always use other home-brew, or unofficial rules. At $120 USD, plus international postage, I won't be buying in, sadly, even though I'd love to. |

I have the game, and first of let me tell you that no-way can the quality of the figures been made (or even approached) in metal. Why do people allways think resin is brittle ? Do they throw figures around ? I am very pleased with AVP but It will take me a long time to do the figures justice when painting them. I've had no problem whatsoever with the rules, they are quite playable and understandable for me, no idea where comments on them came from. In any case I am eagerly awaiting expansions, and it would really be incredible if someone made modular compatible 3D corridors to get the game completely in 3D. |

The idea that the rules (and other components) are poor has come from people that own the game posting on Boardgamegeek. I too saw the promotional pictures and felt sorely tempted to buy this. After a couple of days spent reading the BGG forum for this product, and asking some questions, I've pretty much changed my mind. People think that resin is brittle because, like myself, their experience is that resin is always brittle. I appreciate that there are different resins but I have yet to meet a user-friendly one. A number of BGG forum posters say that their Aliens have 'lost fingers' in their attempts to remove resin plugs from the hands. Sounds like not enough thought was put into the design of the mould. On the plus side there are at least two owners of the game who have something good to say about it, you and one person on BGG. Have you got the Kickstarter version or the retail one? If the latter then can you comment on the quality of the card components (tiles, counters, cards)? It is frequently reported that the retail version is not of the same quality as the KS one in terms of the thickness of the card used. I would like to know if it was robust enough before making my mind up. |

This has certainly been a disappointing series of events especially for the KS backers. I've been wanting to order this game as well, I love the Aliens universe, but (except for the initial Predator movie) I'm not really interested in the Predator universe, and I can't stand the AvP crossover at all! I was looking forward to having some rules specific for USCM vs Aliens and some tiles to game on, but it's looking grim at the moment, IMHO at least. |

Pretty much my view zonk76. Loved the original Predator. Big fan of most things 'Alien'. Don't care for AvP scenarios though. |

Aliens Vs. Predator is deeply seated in my childhood memories of reading Dark Horse comics with my brothers. The AVP movies were trash, but the concept is amazing. I'll need to source out a Magnus: Robot Fighter mini, too. |
