Thanks, that's a good summary, and your Covenant ships look great! My buddy has a copy and we played a quick game the other night. We didn't use any fighter/bomber wings, nor did we use the boarding rules. We just threw down a few capital ships to run through some basic game mechanics. The UNSC got pounded, as the Covenant ships seemed to be superior in both firepower and defense. Superficially, the game reminded me of Full Thrust, what with the fire arcs on the bases and the way ships move. Right now I can't see myself buying the game, I will just play my friends copy.

THAT was the one comment I heard from most I talked to first hand, and some other posts I have read over that 1st yr.

In short, at the beginning of a game one would ask his friend;
"Do you want to play the earth force, or do you want to win?"

IMHO, the miniatures (USNC specifically) looked great. However w one side being more powerful and no real weakness, it took out the incentive really to play, let alone buy it.

IMHO get the minis and use another rule sys. or write your own and make the game 'more Balanced'. It would be a good fall back if your interested in this.
