I have Japanese from Britannia and Kelly's, both available through Grubby Tanks. Both ranges are very nice, but I would say that the Britannia are a bit more robust as far as weapons/bayonets are concerned, although I think the Kelly's are a bit more detailed. Can't go wrong either way as they mix perfectly and they come from the same place. Not too familiar with Burma, but if the Indians used British kit, then like bc1745 mentioned, those could be purchased from Britannia as well. Can't remember the guy's name at the moment, but he is great to deal with and if you make a decent sized order he often throws in something extra. Fairly new to 20mm myself, but Grubby is my new one-stop shop. grubbytanks.com

Andy is the lad's name but he is currently in Turkey on a holiday, due back in 10 days but first class to deal with IF you can get the original Japanese in the Combat Range they are lovely, just very poor quality metal and casting from Stonewall |

Another manufacturer to look at is Wartime Miniatures. They do a range of Aussies, surprisingly enough, that would cover the Burma campaign. They are modelled wearing the wide brimmed hat that many soldiers wore in this theatre. link |

Wherever 'Bruma' is, it must have been a sweeping campaign. |

Interesting how our minds automatically alter things to make more sense. Matchbox made (Revell sells them now) very very nice ANZACS and Japanese infantry. They are 1/76. Mix in Esci and Revell for the Japs and you are more than good to go. plasticsoldierreview.com/ShowFeature.aspx?id=25#WW2JapInf Mix Revell, Airfix and Matchbox for ANZACS and same thing. Not to mention each box of the above (approx 50 figures in each) is about the same price as a just a few metals that may not be moulded nearly as nicely. |
