It's those eyes that turned them into grotesques, Richard. Otherwise they'd be acceptable if unremarkable. The moral: don't attempt eyes. Also, a decent coat of matt varnish would be an easy and great improvement.

Some slightly better painted versions :) Its not just about the painting faces, nearly all have minor changes, head-swaps and weapons. Richard, your efforts are good. A coat of Dullcote works wonders. And forget about the white of the eyes. I just add a pupil with a Micron pen. It saves me a lot of aggravation.
