I'm looking for information on 1806 Prussian Horse Artillery uniforms. Can anyone help? Thanks! |

Here are some images of mine, the uniform blue should be a little darker though, some artistic license to go a little lighter. link Any other questions let me know. John |

John, Thank you! The figures are very nicely painted. What line are they? I've been a huge Prussian fan since I started playing in 1973. I've built an army for the 1813 campaigns, but decided that it was time to look at the earlier period just because no one seems to do 1806 Prussians. |

lemansir, They are 18mm AB's,I've been working on these off and on since they came out in the early nineties. I switched from 25mm to AB's when they started to release these early Prussians as no one else made a decent 1806 Prussian figure. Lately quite a few guys have gotten into early Prussians in the last few years. They have their limitations mostly command and control, no cavalry or artillery reserve, and a linear army. Otherwise still a fun army to game with. John

Lemansir, I too started with late Prussians. Built the whole of Zietens I Corps from 1815 in AB figures. But the more research I did the more interested I became in the 1806 Army. I too use the AB 18mm range like VonBlucher. Wonderful range of figures and often mistaken for 28mm. The 1806 Prussians are a magnificent looking force on the tabletop. Very colourful in an elegant way. I would also argue they fought well too but were let down by a range of factors, the poor quality of their senior leaders being the most obvious. The first shots were fired at Jena at approximately 6:30am and Ruchel's Reserve was not broken till about 3:00pm. Thats 8.5 hours of hard fighting, mostly outnumbered against Napoleon's incomparable Grande Armee at its height of perfection and glory. Nothing wrong with the courage of the rank and file. They were the proverbial "lions led by donkeys". Great army to model and AB's offer a suberb range of figures. |

Thanks vW for linking that – I wanted to link my own thread but on phone is not easy. You (and otehrs) gave some gret helpful advice last time I raised this. |

If I wasn't so heavily invested in 28mm Elite Miniatures and some from Forgotten and Glorious Company of Art I would quickly jump to the 18mm AB range. I know that von Winterfeldt has commented on my grey trousers but I like the artistic license & mixing things up a bit.
