Can someone give advice on how to paint BAOR infantry? If possible, please recomme d colors using Vallejo paints. Thanks.

Cannot go wrong with Andy's guide here:

We were in the same location in 86 but did not know that for about 21 years!

This is 28mm but I suppose the colours will be the same. For 70/80s DPM I use vallejo – Iraqi sand for the base, German Cam bright green splodges, Mahogany sand splodges then black grey lines. With a wash after the base. For 90/2000 DPM I go a bit darker

Nice looking. Hopefully these colors will work well with 15mm too.

You can't really go wrong mate, I just copied an old windproof to get those colours. But if you put 30 blokes on parade you'd have 30 different shades of DPM.

It was quite common to try and fade the trousers and if issued with tropical kit wear the tropical trousers so one could also go with a few different "tones"

Do you remember when tropicals went virtually dayglo, think it must have been a bad batch but they did look odd.

I was issued a few sets in HK in 88, 3 very distinctive "flavours"! And the most comfortable were the older brighter ones!

The main thing with any tone of DPM is to start with the sand base, then do the brown and then work up the overall tone using the final green. DPM is essentially green, but as noted above, faded 68 pattern will look very different to fresh issue S90.

this is 20mm but colours and approach probably work in 15mm

Day glo tropical trousers and windproof smocks, baggier the better!

Ah yes, the curry-powder yellow and day-glo green tropicals… Just issued one of those to a cadet last week, as it was the only thing small enough to fit him (if I rummage far enough back in the cupboards I'll probably find Battledress).

I remember finding out about those windproof smocks when freezing at the 'German Village' on SENTA in December 1990 (surely the coldest place south of Norway?) and noticing that my very smug mate had a much bigger, thicker and warmer-looking smock! Needless to say, the git was OC Supply… :(
