Does anyone produce Cold War troops in 15mm (1/100th scale), wearing snow suits, or improvised bed sheet Winter camo? Ideally, I'm looking for troops on foot, advancing, firing, prone, etc., and carrying automatic rifles, like M-16s, G3s, SLRs, and AK-47s/AK-74s, though at this scale, I suspect other rifles might do in a pinch, say suitable WWII figs, as well. Preferably, they'd have their helmets covered up by hoods, and/or the white bed sheets too, but perhaps wearing load bearing gear over that, or not. I'm okay with some, with helmets showing, and hoods of too. Probably can't be too picky. Would be great if there were options for snowshoes, and/or cross-country skies to go with them as well. Looking for troops to fight in Norway, Sweden, and other venues in the snow, during the Cold War, so could use the following: American Marines, British, Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Danes, Soviets/W.P., West Germans, etc.. Not sure if anyone does figs like that for the specific nations above, for the Cold War, but that would be nice. If not, in a pinch, I could probably use WWII figs, if those are available dressed as above too – thinking perhaps there might be Russians, Finns, Germans, and/or Americans for the Battle of the Bulge. Any ideas on who may produce them now, or might consider them in the near future, if they aren't available from anyone? |

How about these from Peter Pig with modern head swaps?
or perhaps his Zeltbahn figures with head swaps and modified webbing (respirator cases removed etc) |

ArmiesArmy is planning to do winter infantry for his cold war in scandinavia series. Don't know what his release schedual looks like though. I think his VDV will be done in time for Team Yankee, with brits following, later on norwegians and probably swedes. |

Soviet scouts with the camp suits painted white. Figures in Zeltbahn make good improvised snow camp troops. Just paint it as white sheet. |

Or even Soviet scouts with camo suits. Damn auto correct! :-) |

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like more options than I thought to choose from, which is always nice. |

Excellent. I may just wait then. Any chance of snowshoes, and/or cross-country skies to go with them, as separate options, or integral bases to mount them on? Might be useful for some of us. I know I'd certainly like some. Please include at least some troops prone, and firing rifles, RPGs/LAWs/MAWs, and/or MGS. A pack of the separate riflemen as an option would be nice, so we can make up any sized units desired, as well as for the MGs and A/T weapons. Of course, if you want to combine all into a squad pack of prone troops, I'd be fine with that too. Any ETA on availability? Christmas would be great, and appropriate from a seasonal standpoint. ;-) |
