Does anyone have any of these? Any thoughts anyone feels like sharing them would be really appreciated. Thank you! |

I've not seen them but they are, almost certainly, based on the old WRG Ancient China book and so they are wrong… or at least not what is currently thought about them. Khurasan, and my I take a moment to say just how much I hate spellchecker?, is bring out some that look Tops. They will large I'm sure but gorgeous |

I have some of these I bought at least 10 years or so ago, so things may have changed since. There are some photos of them on the Irregular site. The quality of my samples was not great, faces were not very clearly defined and some of the casting was a little weak (I recall the crossbowmen were particularly bad for this on their leg/feet joints). They also needed quite a bit of cleaning up. However, the figures were perfectly usable and painted up ok. I'm a fan of one piece castings for mounted, which the Irregular versions were. I went with another manufacturer in the end for my Song, and if Khurasan bring out a Song range I'd check these out and purchase if they looked ok compared to what I have atm. |

Thanks for the info. Think I'll give Irregular Song a miss then. Can I ask what other Song line you went with? I have to say I am eagerly anticipating Khurasan's Song as well. |

Sorry for the delay in responding. I used Kennington Yuan Chinese figures for my Song (15mm), which basically copied the figures from the Osprey 'Medieval Chinese Armies'. Unfortunatley I don't think these are obtainable any more, Kennington was taken on by SHQ miniatures, from whom I did purchase some additional pack years ago, but I haven't seen these advertised on their site for a while (at link The 25mm version of this range is still available at the SHQ site. Alternatives if you can't wait for the Khurasan would be Essex (not sure how accurate these are, but at least they have pictures so you can see), or you could use Ming if you weren't too fussy about the exact time period. NavWar have some Song figures from the Naismith range, but I have no idea what these look like (http://navwar.co.uk/nav/default.asp?MMID=90). |
