I ran AoF solo in order to get a hang of the mechanics Here are my thoughts and some pictures of the game. link I do have a question? When a Brigade comes to close combat contact with a enemy unit, does that enemy unit get defensive fire, and does the Brigade get offensive fire? I am also working on making my BBB modular terrain system more aesthetically pleasing. Here is how it looks now

Nice write-up. To answer your question--no, units that have moved into base contact do not participate in ranged fire (close combat itself is presumed to largely be fire at under 40 yards). The only way to stop an enemy from closing against you would be artillery interrupt. |

Thanks for the report, Konstantinos. That swamp we saw at Gaines Mill last summer is tough to move through!! Greg, will you be doing any updates on your AoF website? I have gotten a lot of cool ideas from it. John |

Thanks for the clarification Greg. I had too much BBB in my mind when thinking through that. |

Any updates to the website in the near future will likely be minimal. I have a couple free scenarios to upload, probably a few more AARs, and I'm tinkering with a new, cheaper, faster method to do forest canopies. I want to do some winter, snow-covered trees and have been experimenting. Glad you've gotten some good terrain ideas, so far. I love working on terrain for war gaming in all eras and scales. |

You guys should also get in touch with the Ultimate General:Gettysburg people. You scenarios are kinda ready made for that game. Maybe a series of games could come out of that. And yes, your tips are awesome! |
