The completion of the 2/8e Ligne means the reaching of a principle landmark having now completed 33% of the required French line battalions in Victor's I Corps at Talavera.

The regiment was involved in the Peninsular War right from the start as French troops began to infiltrate into Spain in January 1808 under the guise of the Treaty of Fontainebleau.

Great stuff, and very useful to those of us who are painting a French army for the Peninsular War. Thanks for posting.

Absolutely amazing. I'm trying to do an Italian (French) legere battalion and can't get it looking right, and then I look at your figures and think that that's what I want to achieve.

Thanks for your comments chaps, I'm really chuffed that you like the blog and the figures and next up will be a report on the second play test of the Talavera Dawn Attack scenario which produced a a really intense game that mirrored the actual battle in many respects providing loads of ideas to help craft this into a challenge for both sides.

Cheers
JJ
