Old School Cool!

Nice work – full of character but not TOO full of character if you get my drift. Looks like a unit, rather than a collection of individuals : and that's a style that has a lot of merit in my opinion.

Very, very nice! Is this the old range of 20mm figures that one could have still purchased maybe 5-10 years ago from a chap perhaps in New York. Or am I getting two ranges confused?

There is this website but I am unclear of the scale (and the background makes the text difficult to read), and I had heard years ago (might have been in MWAN) that this chap might have pirated figures or something along those lines. Any update?

EDIT – I do see the scale, 20mm.

Note – that link in Buckeye's post has a lot of pop-up ads that look rather dodgy.

I like 20thMaine's comment.

I spend ages trying to convert and individualise each figure in any unit. I want maybe a dozen cavalry to represent a whole regiment………and they end up looking like a mob and chaotic.

Combine that with over-elaborate bases….I will learn one day. Less is more.

Dodgy, those pop ups? Naw, they just wanted my bank details and passwords and one poor guy has lost his wallet and passport and needed a loan. Seemed only fair. The exciting one is the chap trying to get money out of Nigeria…his millions should shortly appear in my account! My day just got better………

Your Swiss look great. I also admire your determination to fix their previously broken-off musket butts.

I cut my teeth on DK figs. Of course, the ones we used were not painted nearly as nice as yours.

Agreed – ultimate Old School cool!

I'm very impressed with your vintage 20mm Napoleonic units. This is what wargaming was like when I was a kid. You've painted up everything the figures have to offer, and then some. What rules do you exercise them with?

Many thanks for your kind comments chaps.

Buckeye – the chap I think you're referring to is David Clayton, who bought up the old British Hinton Hunt line and then added a few of his own. These, however, are Der Kriegspielers, and if they look similar it's because…well..lets just say they were "inspired" by the HH range!

Zippy – no rules chosen as yet. I'm aiming for 5-6 a side of Prussians and French before I attempt to fight them. I'll probably adapt something from the old school classics: Grant, Featherstone, Young and Quarrie!
