Saw the pilot episode, really good. Adds to my Amazon Prime justification to Significant other.

One of my favourite books – the trailer at least looks pretty good

How does one access Amazon Prime?

I hadn't seen the trailer it looks like it might be a great series to watch.

Enjoyed the Amazon Pilot. I'll be watching this.

I watched the Amazon Pilot. I thought it was boring and predictable. YMMV!

hocklermp504 Sep 2015 8:04 a.m. PST

I watched the pilot and found myself drawn into it based purely on the fantastic production values. The Japanese occupied West Coast with all the strange little Japanese cars, signs, etc. was fascinating. The general wretchedness of the American people was sobering and the building tensions between the Axis Powers realistic. Whether all that will hold an audience going forward time will tell.

@Winston

You have to pay a yearly fee for Prime. Then Prime movies/tv shows up near the top as a drop down menu.

I too loved the show pilot. I hope they hurry and get it cranked out while people are still stoked. We've been waiting for some time.

The Pilot was pretty great, the production team spent a lot of time focusing on the little details that make the setting disconcertingly & believably real (which is fitting considering the point of the book).

I really enjoyed the pilot too, and I understand that the (10-part) series starts in November, so I'll be looking forward to watching it. I agree that all the little background details made it very believable.

Oddly enough, it's one of the few Dick books that I don't have.

Saw the first episode – not quite the book, but had the right feel.

Narratio04 Sep 2015 8:05 p.m. PST

As with 20th Maine, the feel was right, the story was a smidge off but you expect that with TV mini-series or full on series (Rizzoli & Isles I'm looking at you)

Oddly enough, it's one of the few Dick books that I don't have.

I had it on my "to read" list for years – finally got around to it and it was a revelation. Not just my favourite PK Dick book, but one of my favourite books full stop.

Brilliant novel. Screen adaptation looks good.
Thanks John.

Thanks cazador

My wife has a Prime account so I might borrow her Kindle and take a look

Agree with 20M about how good the book is.

In fact, when I look at all of the really ground-breaking scifi movies of the past 30 years, it's amazing how many of them are based on stories by Philip K. Dick.

The man was a genius.
