"And the new poster for the latest big screen adaptation of Shakespeare's MACBETH is all kinds of gorgeous. You can also check out the latest trailer for the historical drama which is out this October in UK and December in USA. It follows the classic story about General Macbeth (Michael Fassbender) whose ambitious wife (Marion Cotillard) helps him take over the throne from the ruling Scottish king not choosing the means to achieve their ruthless goals. David Thewlis and Jack Reynor also star in the 11th century historical epic." From Hollywood Spy. link YouTube link Amicalement Armand |

Can you call a play written 500 or so years later a 11th century historical epic? |

Well the play is about as historical as Braveheart and they claimed it was. |

Can you call a play written 500 or so years later a 11th century historical epic? Yes, in much the same way you can call "Spartacus" an ancient roman historical epic. It's set in the 11th C. Doug |

My favorite play…I still like the 1971 version and Orson Welles bizarre version. |

Oo, I like the Sean Bean trailer. Feels right. He's a perfect Macbeth. This other one? Not so much. And where are the shields? But also, where are the helmets in the Sean Bean version? I will answer both: shields are not part of modern stage sword fighting style. And helmets cover faces, rendering recognition for an audience problematic…. |

My favorite Shakespeare play so I will be looking forward to this one! Enemy of man looks good too. However, I saw the actor who played Tywin Lanister in their as well as Sean Bean so it kind of makes me wonder if they are not trying to capitalize on the success of Game of Thrones just a teensy bit. |
