Hi, I've never played any of the SoBH games. Not sure how but I came across Mutants and Death Ray Guns on another website. I've seen a few reviews but I wanted to know if any one has used it for 2000ad (namely Dredd) and would it lend itself to a Star Trek landing party style game? Also, could I use Fear and faith for an X-Files type game? |

I would actually suggest Ganesha's Flying Lead for Judge Dredd or Star Trek Away Team action. M&DRG uses a random generator for model abilities, and is more Gamma World in flavor. Someone else will need to be vouched for by someone else. |

Fear and Faith would work for X-Files, as long as you're looking to game more of the action side of things, rather than a mystery. I'm going to use it for a Monster Hunter International project. |

I've used MaDRGs for Star Wars games which worked well so Star Trek wouldn't be too much of a stretch but I'd agree that Flying Lead would be a good option too. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll look at Flying Lead. Is it not possible to select the model abilities for M&DRG? I like the idea of randomly selecting the opposition but would want to select the "landing party" abilities. |

Yes you can select the abilities in fact pregenerated characters are the way to go, I made the mistake of running a game of it and doing the rolling before we started so they could have the fun of getting the abilities. However they were so keen to just get started I wish I had selected them before hand. Let us know how it goes as it is a great game and I would love to see how you adjust it for Star Trek…read steal all your ideas. |

Any particular reason for NOT using the Judge Dredd rules from Mongoose? |

I did try the first version of the JD rules. Although it evoked the spirit of JD, it felt as if hadn't been fully play tested. Also, at 200 pages, I got fed up at reprinting the updated versions! ☺ |

The revised version of MDRG has a point system so you can stat up your figures in any way that makes sense. MDRG has also an implied setting (gonzo post apocalyptic) but you can just remove what doesn't apply to your game world and ignore the weapon malfunction rules. However if you are looking for a setting where firearms are more varied and powerful (a "shooty" game), try Flying Lead. MDRG is intended to be 50% melee oriented and 50% ranged combat. |

I've picked up a paper copy of Fear & Faith. Is there a 1 or 2 page QRS for it? Otherwise I'll try photocopying the last four pages onto two sides of A4. |
