Don't know if anybody's already posted this, but it's new to me: heroforge.com Prices are a little high for a printed model. As far as I can tell, you're paying for the customization. |

TMP link The software is innovative. It looks as if could be easily extended to historical figures. From a website that publishes manufacturing costs, these figures would cost $2 USD-$3 to print, mono or multi-color in a plastic-like material. Add markup for the designer and the print bureau. A colleague of mine prints 40mm figures at home and he said the material cost is about $2. USD All costs exclude hardware, but a printer that could print wargame figures in colour costs about half a million. |

I've painted eight. Seven of those are pictured below as either finished or work-in-progress. Since they are one-piece figures it can be hard to paint some of the details or areas of the model as the brush and line-of-sight are blocked by other parts of the model. They are fragile but if broken can be repaired with pinning and super glue. The models have the same issues as other 3D printed models. Some models have a waxy residue on them, some are rather grainy, even thought they are ultra detail, and some have what appear to be seam lines but are probably just a result of the printing process.
