"The Ukrainian military is set to receive the unusual looking mitznefet military helmet cover, also known as the "clown hat," from the Israeli defense force, according to a report Tuesday from pro-Russian news site Sputnik. The supply of Israeli equipment to the Ukrainian military comes at a diplomatically sensitive time and is thought to be in response to Russia's decision to arm Iran, Israel's mortal enemy, with the advanced S-300 missile defense system…" Full text here link Maybe this helmet cover is perfect for that environment… but it also serves to send a message (first step?)to Russia that there will be consequences in their missile sale to Iran.? Maybe, more likely just earning some money through exports. Was Israel sending the UK a message selling knock-off mirages to Argentina? I don't think so. |

I don't get your example my friend. Argentina never was enemy of Israel as Iran is. Mirage sailing was so long ago as the british sailing weapons to the Confederation (smile). I respect you opinion either. Amicalement Armand |

Israel sells kit to Ukraine, interpreted as sending a message to Russia showing their support to Ukraine?. Israel sells kit to Argentina, interpreted as sending a message to the UK showing their support to Argentina? I don't think it was so in either case, so really making the point that its easy to read too much into stuff like this. |

Those clown hats are rather goofy. Wonder if they flop in their eyes at inconvenient times? |

If selling helmet covers to Ukraine is to send a message to Russia, I don't think it is much of a message… Damon. |

They're getting 20? There are more than that available on Ebay. |

I think I would rather be court martialed than wear one of those. |

Love the first comment on the site: "Ukraine is set to get 20 covers." "You're doing an article on the shipment of 20 HELMET COVERS from one country to another? Is this a joke?" |

They are goofy looking, but I can see the use in certain types of environs. Like you might find in certain locations in Mid East, SW Asia, etc. … With limited to no foliage and a lot of rocks, etc. … Remember camo, is to help you blend it, break up your out line, etc. … Goofy or not it might add to your survival. |
