I see this come up in sidebar conversations, but I have not seen a dedicated thread on the topic, so here it is. I imagine 6mm/1:285 will be popular (perhaps some 3mm as well), my brother wants to play it in 10mm, and I am sure there will be some 1:72/20mm players out there. What figure size/scale are you going to game in?

DColtman01 Sep 2015 6:09 a.m. PST

6mm

paulgenna01 Sep 2015 6:41 a.m. PST

6mm/1:285th

HistoryPhD01 Sep 2015 6:50 a.m. PST

If I do, it will be in 3mm

cloudcaptain01 Sep 2015 7:14 a.m. PST

3mm in hopes of avoiding tank conga lines. Maybe 20mm if that is not an issue with these rules.

Dynaman878901 Sep 2015 7:29 a.m. PST

I won't be playing it but if I did it would be in 6mm.

Generalstoner4901 Sep 2015 7:33 a.m. PST

6mm. I have no doubt that the Russian T-72's will be wheel to wheel when the rules drop.

Onomarchos01 Sep 2015 7:38 a.m. PST

1:285/6mm for me also. I'm already dusting off the minis.

1/285 since I do WW2 in that scale. That way I don't need new scenery.

Gravett Islander01 Sep 2015 9:01 a.m. PST

I'll be rescuing my 6mm collection from my brother's garage and hoping that it's survived the last twenty years!

panzerCDR01 Sep 2015 9:28 a.m. PST

I will do 15mm as all of my terrain is in that scale. 1/285 does bring back the memories though . . .

Goober01 Sep 2015 9:32 a.m. PST

Yup. 6mm probably.

If the rules are are good, I'd do it in 10-12mm despite having a huge 1/285th collection for the period. (Mainly because they will probably be at the lower tactical level. I have lost may stands of infantry in terrain features only to discover this later! (I just KNOW I had a TOW stand somewhere in this tree line…..)

jameshammyhamilton01 Sep 2015 9:55 a.m. PST

1/285th if I play.

My concern is also terrain, I have lots in 15mm but I can probably cope with enough for a table or two in 1/285th.

TMPWargamerabbit01 Sep 2015 10:53 a.m. PST

If I follow my present FOW gaming using 20mm then I expect 20mm. Presently working on 20mm Vietnam period and some WWI in the offering.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik01 Sep 2015 12:29 p.m. PST

I'm gonna need a BIG table 😄

Mako1101 Sep 2015 12:42 p.m. PST

Me, though I'm not sure I'll use their rules, either.

We'll see.

1/285th and 1/144th scales, in addition to 15mm as well, since those larger vehicles just look cool!

Garand01 Sep 2015 12:43 p.m. PST

I might try it out in 6mm depending on what vehicles they stat out (I have for cold war gaming a bunch of M60A1s/M113s, as well as T-62s/BMP-1s), although 6mm is cheap enough I could just go out and buy the missing stuff…

I would not change the scale or measurements. 6mm played at 15mm scale gives a more realistic game IMHO.

Damon.

Mako1101 Sep 2015 1:31 p.m. PST

Need to purchase some more troops, and communists, but I've got a decent force for Team Fritz in 15mm.

Must get them painted.

Allen5701 Sep 2015 1:40 p.m. PST

I play Team Yankee with the rules from the board game. Use 6mm though I am thinking of going to 3mm. The game is the only modern East vs. West rules I have had any interest in.

coopman01 Sep 2015 3:31 p.m. PST

Most likely 6mm.

Tgunner01 Sep 2015 6:49 p.m. PST

Both 15mm and 3mm!

dsfrank01 Sep 2015 7:20 p.m. PST

6mm and 10mm most likely – maybe 3mm if a vehicle = a platoon

79thPA Supporting Member of TMP02 Sep 2015 7:26 a.m. PST

I expect them to follow their established format of a vehicle = a vehicle.

coopman02 Sep 2015 7:33 a.m. PST

I was kind of toying with the idea of putting three 3mm tanks on a medium FOW base & calling it a platoon. The two co. command tanks would be on a separate base. But I guess that it would be impractical though, with bail-outs and bogged down results that could occur during play.

SgtPain02 Sep 2015 1:24 p.m. PST

Most likely, I will use my 1/285th scale micro armor, that I have had for more years and currently in storage. In addition, at this point I don't believe that I will play enough games to justify the cost and effort of re-create an miniature army, I already have in a larger scale.

Although, if the rules "take off" and enough of my gaming buddies want to play a larger scale, I might change my mind.

I'm doing that with Weasel's Brigade Commander. Only it's a company.

HidaSeku03 Sep 2015 11:14 p.m. PST

I'm thinking for Team Yankee, if there's sufficient playerbase, I may just go the standard 15mm.

For normal FOW, I actually go 1/72, so going with the "normal" 15mm would actually be a fun difference, I think. I'm definitely thinking a wait-and-see approach to this is best before I start planning any purchases.

Martin Rapier04 Sep 2015 2:22 a.m. PST

My Cold War stuff is 2mm, apart from AIW which is 6mm. I do have 15mm stuff but it is more aimed at low intensity conflicts.
