I have not been this excited about a set of fantasy rules in years. They are simple but have a lot of depth and just beg for you to adapt them to your favorite time or place for gaming. Full Review here: link

I agree -I've got a ton of fantasy figs to choose from not to mention warbands based on 40K Inquisition and Genestealer cults.
To be honest I only bought the book as it was cheap on Amazon and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about -I'm now hooked.

I really like them but in my opinion the games get repetitive with the constant race for the treasure objective. We have discussed playing frostgrave using the old Mordhiem scenarios or even doing a map based campaign but working out how to award treasure and items is tricky.

I also think the ability to purchase magic items is a little too open. We have toyed with doing rolls out of game to limit what magic items are available for purchase.

I think the d20 gives some extreme results and a couple of lucky 20 rolls in a row can change the game very quickly. As others have mentioned the Campaign system needs fixing as some warbands can get very powerful and there is no balancing system.

Well I may change my mind once we start doing a campaign latter this month but until then I refuse to borrow problems that may or may not be there.

Here is a blog about Frostgrave and some discussion about inherent campaign issues:

In this post the blog author has some recommended game changes to address the issues he sees.

Yeah Xin those have been on the Lead Adventures forum for a while… he raises some good points but I don't not every one has had that experience.

@Adamc1776,
It's difficult to believe that anyone would have these problems. There's no way that you should ever leave the board with less than 2 treasures. I have seen some of the tables for Frostgrave and they are way too open. Frostgrave is supposed to be a city, not a sleepy little village in some bucolic setting!
No game length? Take your treasure and go. Why would you hang around?

In total agreement Cyrus :)
