Well here are some concept drawings that might inspire some of you to put them on the table.

NOTE: With a little imagination, the idea of a Post-Apocalyptic world created while battling "formless" (mostly spherical) energy beings could easily work for Medieval/Fantasy too!

Dan you lost your marbles years ago. And it would be a much less fun place if you ever found them again!

Owen, maybe a few marble short himself

Haven't you found your marbles yet?! So once you have found your marbles just how do you plan to mount them? Do you have an idea that would make them look like they are floating?

Dan on a different note I hope you don't find your marbles wink

I liked that movie. I dunno about using marbles, I think I'd go with like Litko sensor bleep tokens for when they're invisible and just some kind of abstractish glow-painted blob on a flight stand for the revealed form. I played aropund with some more abstract 'force creature' designs on shapeways for Full Thrust:

For fantasy, these would work for quasi-elementals, such as lightning elemental creatures, or creatures from the Planes of Energy (Positive and Negative). Not a bad idea at all. Thanks! Cheers!

"Do you have an idea that would make them look like they are floating?"

I think I've seen clear acrylic rings at Hobby Lobby. But that was long ago, when I was more mobile and could handle shopping or just looking around.

They were somewhere with the curtain rods, I think. Like I said, that was many months ago.

I have been thinking of making an entire army of such things for years now. It was more of a joke for 40k touting to make a two thousand point army for under twenty usd.

It seems like the Fantasy guys are playing with their marbles now:
