20 Pdrs., and then 105mms, IIRC, though perhaps I have that confused for another nation.

All upgraded to 105mms, eventually.

Yep mk III's with 20 pounders to start with. Im specific to 1980-82

I'll not say why….

No 84mm centurions in the 80's, only strv 101s and 102s with 105mm, the strv 104 was later (84-86) and were 102s with too worn out engines fitted with newer engines (and transmission/drivetrain). Will find you some pics tomorrow!

Now, about the Swedish infantry…

Armiesarmy01 Sep 2015 4:55 a.m. PST

Ive some cunning plans…..

If I can make sure I can cover costs!

Krieger01 Sep 2015 7:16 a.m. PST

Yaay! Happy to hear! I'm sure I can help with covering the costs ;)

Anywho: The Strv 101 was basically a Mk X Centurion, while the 102s where the older Mk 3 and Mk 5 Centurions upgunned with 105mm guns (no Strv 81 remained after the conversion). The big REMO (Renovation and modification) 1983-87, wich ment a lot of improvements (Reactive armor, flarelaunchers, bringing 102s frontal armor up to Mk X levels). Wich means that the most swedish Centurions with "Lyran" flarelaunchers etc don't fit in to your timeframe =(

Strictly from a "looks" point of view, tank design reached its apogee with the Centurion.

Sorry for the irrelevance but it needed saying.

That and the chieftain are my favourite tanks by far
