I am strictly a soloist.
am thinking of making the plunge, but the thought of going to a new scale (been doing 25mm for years) is not appealing.
How well would my 25mm work?

I am building 25mm Renaissance armies right now myself, using Ral Partha, Minifigs, & Hinchcliffe. Solo games only, also. Never tried those rules, though.

Doing "By Fire and Sword" in 25/28mm can work, and what relatively little I've done has been fun.

I agree with GamesPoet. Our active group in Maine has been playing By Fire & Sword with 28mm figures for about two years now

Mike,
What conversion rate do you use?
That is, as I understand it – they use "stands" of three 15mm figs. What do you use?
Thanks

I looked at this possibility, too.

Most knowledgeable commentators seem to think that it works best at the skirmish level, and having read it and noted the degree of granularity involved I can see their point. And without a large table, in 28mm that's as much as you could manage, anyway.

The table is five feet by ten feet.

I believe the bases have a 60mm width. Initially we played with inches, but reverted back to centimeters

Yes, 3 figures per stand, with 60mm width for basing.

Oh, and "By Fire and Sword" was featured at Huzzah! 2014 using 25/28mm figures Swedes vs. Poles with quite a number of regiments per side on a very large playing area, but can't recall it's size.
