"Want to become an Iranian citizen? A new law is about to make that a whole lot easier—but you're going to have to fight for it—literally. One of the foremost critiques of U.S. President Obama's Iran deal is that the promise of more than $100 USD billion in sanctions relief will invigorate the Islamic Republic with funds to continue its covert wars throughout the Middle East. Even the president noted at a recent White House press conference Iran's "support for terrorism" and "its use of proxies to destabilize parts of the Middle East." The Islamic Republic of Iran, since its founding in 1979, has sought to "export the Islamic revolution"— which its leaders see as still unfolding. Indeed, Iran has shown no signs of dialing back on these efforts in the region since the nuclear accord was announced. Now Iran's parliament is considering a new law that will give Iran more fighters for questionable military pursuits…" See here link Amicalement Armand |

Not surprising to some of us at all, sadly. |

Yes … all part of their overall plan to control much of the Mid East. Of course, at the very least … Deash and AQ to name a few … may have something to say about it. Plus once the Persians get nucs … that could be a real game changer ? Yes ? |

Reminds me of the ethos of 'Starship Troopers' with its prerequisite of military service for citizenship. |

Frankly the Iranians are no worse (probably better) than the Saudis and will never be more than a regional power… let them. Rhetoric apart, I suspect that they would be quite happy to come to a mutually very beneficial arrangement with the West and would probably offer more stability… Getting on with people doesn't always mean they have to be bosom buddies! |

Unfortunately, the Iranians want to be a global power and want to dominate all muslims plus eliminate leaders of the Sunni majority. Destroying the Saudis and taking control of Mecca is in their plans. Dont think a war between muslims will only be a regional conflict. |

Rhetoric apart, I suspect that they would be quite happy to come to a mutually very beneficial arrangement with the West and would probably offer more stability… It's risky to disregard what people plainly tell you and substitute what you would prefer to be true. One of the great lessons of the 20th century is that when people say they intend to kill you, you should believe them. |

I have to agree cwlinsj & Zippy … Not many in that region or others near by … that I trust … They probably say the same about the US/West … |

"I suspect that they would be quite happy to come to a mutually very beneficial arrangement with the West and would probably offer more stability… ". Yea, except for the whole "death to America, and Israel" thing. Perhaps we should take them at their word, when they're screaming death chants against us. |

Yea, except for the whole "death to America, and Israel" thing. Yes, that and all the US/Western blood on their hands from supporting our adversaries … But otherwise they are a great bunch of guys ! |

A shame we didn't take them down, instead of Iraq, which was our quasi-ally against the Iranian radicals, back in the day. |

It was Saudi that should have taken down, remind me where most of the 7/11 lot came from? The Persians are being Persian, as they have for the last 3,000 years or so. |
Legion 4 | 31 Aug 2015 8:08 a.m. PST |
You mean 9/11 … but I'm sure some Saudis in the USA work or operate some 7/11s … |
