Been working on some F&IW stuff, specially where it can be overlapped with NA War of 1812.

Built a wigwam from a 6-7 inch paper mâché egg cut in half, gluing on shredded pieces of crêpe paper in the form of bargain store party streamers, and lastly a craft store bird's nest was salvaged for twigs to add framing. Total cost of the project was likely under $10 USD, and I will eventually have two wigwams out of the deal (one being taller and more conical than the other). Paint, glue and the usually assortment of craft/hobby tools filled out the requirements for this project.

I used gel glue with a quick setting agent, as holding the twigs in place while the white hobby glue proved to be too frustrating an endeavor for me… And I would highly recommend this approach. But if you have the patience, good for you!

Great idea! And you've found a much cheaper alternative to "tree wrap" for representing sheets of bark!
