Hello again all,
To continue with the Borderlands theme here's is what I did with Dave Graffam's Watch station which can be found here – davesgames.net/catalog-watch-station.htm

Dirt cheap great paper model with loads of excellent building possibilities. I sized it to 15mm scale. As you can see it makes a big difference printing on a laser printer. I painted extra numbers and wear and tear.

Now all I need is a Sheriff and a deputy.

May you be inspired.

Hello,

I am curious, what do you use for sheriff and deputy miniature ?

Good work !!!

Thanks Mordreg,
I would use either the GZG Colonial security or there are 2 with cowboy hats in the armed civilian, colonists packs

I have the Colonial Security packs & they are very nice minis

That turned out really well. A paper model when done right brings the table to life.

That building could be used for a lot of other things as well,
like;
Spaceport control tower.
Forgotten military outpost.
Mining company's surveying/hab station.

Thanks Tk421, it does indeed and with the added benefit that you do not need to paint it.

Yes Warmonkey, it can be used for loads of projects, since it is modular (almost like lego) and scaleable ( the windows are printed in 3 different sizes ).
Plus lots of different layers are available in the pdf itself. Dave Graffam's models are very versatile, great quality and dirt cheap and if you accesorise them with bits like radars, grills etc, they they come even better.

Thanks for the info Mordreg but I was thinking more along scifi lines. That's why I would opt for the GZG colonials.

Come to think of it ,Ex Armies Army now Brigade Models Penal figures might alo work out as menial labour ( Farmers, miners , etc.)

I could see using a lot of them for mining habitats for a colony, in the living quarters section for the miners.

Indeed Warmonkey,
Plus one can scrath build a drill head, mine shaft entrance, water tower , com sat , gang ways etc ( those who do laser cut models have loads of options and most of them can cut to order ) .You can also do corrugated card sheet roofing + sprue chimneys, add radar and hatches and loads of other things.

Add some GZG big wheeled vehicles or industrial mecha.

Something like the Hadley's Hope the colony on LV426 in Aliens ( another good reason to watch Aliens again, not that one needs a reason :) )

For some reason my previous post did not show up.
My suggestion would be to print in different scales and styles.Stick to different thicknesses of card, depending on use. Cut with scissors and build according to what you like.
You could also build in various shapes and sizes.
