… Aircraft Carriers Will Have. "Despite the proliferation of precision-guided ballistic and cruise missiles, aircraft carriers are far from obsolete. That was the message Vice Admiral Mike Shoemaker, commander of Naval Air Forces, sought to deliver this week. Well we really didnt expect an Admiral to come out and say Aircraft Carriers are no longer useful on the modern battlefield and we should spend the billions of dollars on something that might actually win a war. |

Aircraft carriers will continue to be useful dealing with the ~90% of earth within 1000nm of a coastline. After all, as the situation with Turkey shows, you may not be able to secure land basing options. Carriers mean that you don't need the land basing options. |
