… Sponsored Syrian Rebels?. "The kidnapping of a group of U.S.-trained moderate Syrians moments after they entered Syria last month to confront the Islamic State was orchestrated by Turkish intelligence, multiple rebel sources have told McClatchy. The rebels say that the tipoff to al Qaida's Nusra Front enabled Nusra to snatch many of the 54 graduates of the $500 USD million program on July 29 as soon as they entered Syria, dealing a humiliating blow to the Obama administration's plans for confronting the Islamic State. Rebels familiar with the events said they believe the arrival plans were leaked because Turkish officials were worried that while the group's intended target was the Islamic State, the U.S.-trained Syrians would form a vanguard for attacking Islamist fighters that Turkey is close to, including Nusra and another major Islamist force, Ahrar al Sham…" Full article here link The Syrian rebels have not provided any proof for this accusation … but Turkey has proven itself more than once in the past to be a very unreliable ally in the region, and the Turkish government of Erdogan have made it very clear that they see the Kurds and the Syrian government of Assad as the enemy, and not necessarily groups like Al Qaeda's Syrian linked group Al-Nusra. This plus the pushy raids on Kurds with spec. Forces imbedded should definitely put Turkey into, the wrong side against the scumbags. |

Does anyone else notice that Turkey is becoming a lot like Pakistan. Fighting the wrong enemy and trying to control a terrorist group to do its bidding. |

War Gaming ???? Ambush a vehicle convoy during a movement halt, perhaps at a border crossing post or town just inside the border. The attacker (ISIS) gets "free" turns to move until detected by the defender's sentry units (NOTE: might need to also use Night Fighting Rules for this), or until either side opens fire. Bonus points to the attacker for capturing rather than killing the defenders. Defending force is two platoons of light infantry, motorized in a mix of medium trucks (2 1/2 ton or equivalent) and technicals. |

Yea, we're doing the same for the Paks as well, insteading of a ground war promised to clean out the jihadis. Sad. 15mm or 20mm scale for the ground invasion of Pakistan, and Ambush Alley/Valley rules, I suspect. |

Sorry, L4, I prefer 15mm troops. I'll happily play 6mm, but I like the better size and detail of 15s. |

Well … someone has to buy all the 15mm out there … |
