Hello everyone,

I recently acquired the Spartacus board game (based on the Starz series). It comes with a few gladiator miniatures that seem to be about 28mm scale (about the same size as the Heroclix minis). I would like to pick up more gladiators in this scale for both that game and for some other gladiator table top games.

I've seen the Foundry ones of course and they are amazing, but was wondering if anyone has a good US based source for some good minis.

Thank you.

Old Glory gladiators are fine, I have a mix of those, Foundry, and others. And dollar store lions and tigers and dogs from ZOMBIES!!!

I believe that Reaper has a few, and they tend to have the heroic rather than true scale

Thanks everyone! Comparing the figures that come with the game they seem to vary between 25mm and 28mm. I just ordered a pack of 5 from Brigade to start with and will fill out the ranks more shortly. The figures in the game and the characters on the show are not overly historically accurate, and I will probably make some of the character gladiators from the show (Gannicus, Barca, etc) if I can find good base figures to work from. I think for some of them I will have to look at some of the fantasy ranges out there.

I also plan to use the more historical miniatures for another gladiator game I'm trying to develop that has more RPG elements. Interestingly, one of my gaming friends is Liam McIntyre, who actually took over the role of Spartacus in the show for seasons 3 & 4.

The EM4 gladiators are pretty good and pre-painted. I forget who picked up the line.
