The 8e Ligne was the senior French line infantry regiment at Talavera under the command of Colonel Jean Autie who had been its colonel for six years prior to Talavera
The regiment could trace its lineage back to 1776 as the former Regiment de Champagne. If you would like to know more then just follow the link to JJ's link Jonathan |
