I found an apartment and have to start the new job in Dallas on September 2. I am going to try to depart Charlotte today after I have the moving trailer packed. One of the last items to be packed will be the computer so I wanted to say I will be offline for a couple of days unless I manage to check in using my phone.

It is a new chapter in my life and a new adventure. Texas, here I come. Looking forward to meeting the war gaming community in the area.

We loved Texas (Austin though). I may miss the food most of all.

Safe journey, and best wishes for your new job!

Are you going I-40 (Knoxville-Nashville-Memphis etc. route) or I-85, I-20 route (Atlanta-Birmingham-Jackson, etc.)?

I always heard it was written, "Gone to Texas". :) I have family spread out all over Texas. Seems that jobs and the economy have drawn more and more of my immediate and extended family thither….

Welcome! Dallas is a grand old city. Tons to do and see there and in Ft. Worth.

Let us know when you get settled and are ready to make the rounds of DFW gaming groups. No matter what you are interested in, I can guarantee that someone around here is playing it!

Well, we're at Vicksburg tonight and Kim is asleep snoring in the next bed. We still have about six hours to go. This is a horrendous drive but I'm sure glad I didn't let him do it by himself!
