Good Ground in conjunction with Fire & Fury Games will be running our Fredericksburg scenario at Fall In in November. We will be using the new Fire & Fury Brigade rules with this well-tested scenario as a playtest of the revisions to the classic brigade rules. More to come on the scenario as we get closer to the convention.

We will use Cracker Line and Plank Road figures with Between the Lines Models over a custom-built board. Good Ground is working on a model of Brompton Mansion for the convention, meanwhile, we used the center building of the Lacy Home as a base for conversion to the model pictured here.

Can't imagine why anyone would want to refight Fredericksburg as the Union player.

ACWBill24 Aug 2015 9:26 a.m. PST

The Union player has won this scenario numerous times. In fact they won the last time we played it. Prospect Heights in particular offers many options to the US player. A supported attack there stands a very decent chance of success.

The game looks fantastic but I am more interested in a new version of Fire and Fury. I did not realize that an update was even in the works! I will have to pick that up when it releases!

Fredericksburg is a brat battle to do as long as you don't force the players into Burnsides' mistakes.

Well, don't do a frontal assault on the heights. Work the flanks (you should be doing this as a strategy anyway) and exploit your successes. Do these things and the Rebs will end up having to make some hard decisions. Staying put will end up being their undoing if they don't maneuver and meet any emerging threats.

Fantastic looking game Bill! Were I going, I'd try to get into this one. Enjoy the game!

Looks great….. did you submit it?

All I could find is this really cool game listed as:
E211 on Saturday at 2pm on D-44 in the middle of the D-fink…

The description read:

Come join us as we playtest the NEW BRIGADE FIRE & FURY by Rich Hasenauer. We will use the new rules to play our Fredericksburg scenario over a beautiful terrain board featuring plenty of 10mm Plank Road and Cracker Line Miniatures from Good Ground. You will have a chance to give valuable feedback leading up to the planned launch of the new Brigade Fire & Fury at Historicon 2016.

Enjoy!

@Poniatowski, that would be the one!

The HMGS site does not have the '15 Fall-In PEL up yet, am I missing something ?

Ember52 Supporting Member of TMP24 Aug 2015 2:46 p.m. PST

PJ,

Since Dan extended the deadline until 8/21/15 for GMs to submit their games for the PEL, it might be a while before we see the PEL on the YM site.

For some Cons, there is a "rolling" PEL, updated several times until the final draft appears after the deadline. For others, the only PEL appears sometime after the deadline. That may be the case with Fall-In.

I'm sure Dan and company will keep us posted.

ACWBill:

Terrific table and Fredericksburg is an interesting battle.

But I gotta ask, what is going to make F&F 'new'?

ACWBill24 Aug 2015 4:59 p.m. PST

Ah, come and play laddie and yee shall see!

Poniatowski25 Aug 2015 6:51 a.m. PST

The PEL will be up as planned… on schedule. We extended the event submission and basically took the week out of the schedule planned for cleaning up the PEL and readying it for posting.

The powers that be, not only got through the whole list by Saturday afternoon, but the YM admin also got through the complete list by yesterday, so we are on track for the normal, as listed PEL release…

The brochures are printed and out.

I have seen the event listing, it is pretty sweet.

AND, keeping on topic, the Fredericksburg game promises to be as awesome as it looks…. come play and see!

Dan
