Oba was an amazing character and well worthy of a movie. I didn't know that they made one. Having lived on Saipan for 7 years and read a lot about him I can see some inaccuracies (he attacked and escaped through the American lines in the hills east of Tanapag not along the beach) but this looks head and shoulders above Windtalker. Gents; Actual photos of the surrender of "Oba's Company": link The movie itself was extremely well done, accurate – compare the actual photos to the movie – and well worth seeing. Mark |
