So I logged on for an order and found all was closed down and I am told to go away for several weeks. I suspect something malicious has happened here and I am in contact with Niels (who knows nothing of this) and Kawe (who is probably relaxing on a beach unaware that his enterprise faces ruin!)

Log on to;

westfaliaminiatures.com

and you will see what I mean. If it then works though, it has been fixed!

I am a huge fan of these folk …..

Something very odd here

PS have you noticed how you cannot correct the simplest typo error in the title? Westfaalia? Come on Editor, give a guy a break…. So I hit the key twice. That Pinot Grigio was delicious, cold (and it is hot here, for UK) and I did mean to keep the rest of the bottle till tomorrow.

I have been after Dear Editor in Chief for years to allow me to fix my titles.
Can't be done.

But the next best thing to do is hit the complaint [!] button yourself and ask him to fix things.

Weird, their facebook page is still working:
link

And this posted only 13 hours ago:
"Let's celebrate Grossbeeren! Order any Saxon, French or Prussian code with a 15% discount by using the "grossbeeren2015" voucher at checkout."

And yes agreed about annoyance of being unable to change titles.

Yeah. Facebook works, but try even if you follow Facebook's link to their main site……..

Let alone directly onto it.

I think they have either been attacked or committed commercial suicide………….

The work anyone does to get someone to at least look at your site………

Surely no-one would close it down indefinitely.

Title is my stupid fault though! "Rats!" Winston I hear you cry…….

Use the "Shop Now" link from the Faceook page, or try this link, so you may take advantage of the 15% discount currently on offer:

How did you do that..or at least work that out?

I am soon 62 years old. Although retired and working only part time, I still am constantly flattered to be told that my professional skills persist, especially in a real emergency (40 years' experience does help!). But anything like this is beyond me.

Google "Westfalia", follow their direct link on that Facebook thing (I have a profile of my own, but no idea how to access it) or just punch in the address and they tell you to go away, as they are "Restructuring"

Well done Condotta. You may have earned much more than 15% discount for this! Without this they bist Gefucht, as we say in Waterford (it might get past the software)

grin deadhead, glad you are able to access the Westfalia shop and that I could be of service. You gave the clues that led to success in your posts above when you noted the FB link to their site didn't work. I noted that they have an auxiliary link "Shop Now" at the top of their FB page, and it worked…so, Bobs your uncle.

I suspect you are slightly younger and possessed of greater IT skills than me. Thanks though!

I'll bet you have one of these phones that does more than make phone calls, as well. My Nokia is 8-9 years old and far from "smart", but it does do texts……a skill I recently learnt.

Howdy – all is good just the tech is not. That and I was relaxing with 20 beers at the Bournemouth air show. :--)

Westfalia really is a garage business!

deadhead, you have hit on an issue many struggle with concerning tech. What technology is truly of value and how do you use it intelligently without allowing tech to become counter-productive? Different for everyone, and there are always those ahead of you as well as far behind. However, the community is a giving one, so just ask or mention your issue and someone will come along to assist.

From your description, you have skills that are growing and you are able to navigate around most issues. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing if what you have works for you. At least two of my friends are on voluntary "time outs" from FB because it began interfering with their routines. Glad I could assist this time.

HistoryPhD23 Aug 2015 6:17 p.m. PST

However, the issue still remains that the bulk of their customers will neither figure out that trick nor see this explanation, so they are essentially still "gefucht", as deadhead so eloquently put it.

ah ha. The message is now subtly different. Slightly more positive and offers hope for the future!

It now says you can at least e mail us, but the link does not work.

We need this company for their limited edition high quality stuff.

Back up –the Grossberen2015 voucher remains active for a while to make sure nobody misses his chance.

AuvergneWargamer29 Aug 2015 7:36 a.m. PST

Kawe,

Glad that "the Grossberen2015 voucher remains active for a while".

Does that mean the end of August?

Cheers,

Paul
