I'll be honest. I think their choice and range is superb. I think their anatomical proportions are really good and not the Hobbit thing that I hate. But I have never bought a single figure yet (not even their Gendarmes d'Elite, which look potentially brilliant!)

Even in their latest stuff….and what is shown here is superb…what are they all looking at? Is there a bad smell in the air? Do they fear Stuka attack? A tiny change in their necks (anteflexion strictly speaking) would transform these!

Why is every figure they have ever produced arched backwards, in opisthotonus, like tetanus…. end stage, gazing at the sky?

Let me admit that the effect is reduced here, but I would still know the source of these figures instantly

I love the poses and the "looking up" heads of Morbey/Gilder figures --always have. We actually spend very little time staring at our tiny figures at eye level with them three inchs from our eyes -- we do however tend to spend a good deal of time looking down at out little gems as they march and do battle across our tables and always a good deal lower then the average gaze -- this pose enables us to actually see the little faces of our beautiful troops as they so bravely march into the tempest. The figures are not suppose to be caricatures and I love the animation of these figures!!

To my understanding, the Elite Miniatures are not looking up at the sky or ceiling of a wargames room as such, but actually looking up at Peter Morbey, designer/creator of Elite Miniatures who also design/sculpt and painted figures for Peter Gilder Connoisseur line of 25mm figure ranges.

Peter Gilder was, (one of our founding fathers pioneering 25mm Wargaming & rules designing during 1970's), Peter Morbey mentor.

INDEED !! Peter Gilder is the father of the modern war game figure and often does not get his credit due -- I feel anyway.

I think they are looking up so they don't see those cannon balls coming at them !
