Does anyone know if the 1916 French 37mm infantry gun was used by either side in the Spanish Civil War? |

My understanding is that some were supplied to the Republic from French stocks and from weapons captured by the Russians in the early 1920s, although the latter might have been Russian 37mm Trench Gun. |

Thank you. I didn't realize that the Russians had one too. I will look up G&F's book. |

The Russians had a couple of different types. I've read about them on the Jaeger Platoon website. While the site is dedicated to Finnish military matters, they tried using these as emergency A/T guns in their Winter War. They even provide photos. |
