… in response to rocket fire, "The IDF announced on Thursday night that it had attacked 14 targets belonging to the Syrian regime in the Golan Heights. According to the statement, the attacks were a joint operation of the Israel Air Force, the artillery corps and the armored corps. The attacks were retaliation for the firing of four rockets towards Israeli territory from Syria on Thursday afternoon. "This shooting was carried out by the Islamic Jihad, with Iranian funding, and is a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Israel. The IDF holds the Syrian regime responsible for what is happening in its territory and will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israel's sovereignty and the security of its citizens," said the IDF Spokesperson's Unit…" Full article here link

Because the IDF is defending Israel's border, not attacking larger targets, not escalating. Israel will respond, not escalate…. |

Well said Ace … And at this time Deash is killing mostly Syrians, Iraqis and some Persians. No friends of Israel. However, everybody knows, if Deash continues it's jihad to create their Caliphate. They will have to take on the IDF and the Turks. I think they know in either case … Deash will lose. |

So their solution is to further weaken the one force in the country attempting to maintain security? Yeah, that makes sense. /sarc Between the IDF, the Turks, and the USAF, seems everybody and their mother is piling in to take a chunk out of Assad's hide these days. |

While doing almost nothing about ISIS. It's al very odd. I fail to see what the IDF gains from an ISIS victory, yet they seem to be helping them. |

According to the news, Islamic Jihad, who launched the rocket attack on Israel that provoked this IDF counter-strike, is an Iranian sponsored militia, and both are allied with the Assad government. I expect the Israelis will strike directly at the rocket squads when they can catch them. In the mean-time, retaliation fell on some unfortunate Syrian soldiers. It takes bizarre, magical thinking to blame the Israelis for the Shia/Sunni civil war in Syria, when both sides are sworn enemies of Israel. It's too bad that Kurdistan is on the other side of Syria from Israel. The Israelis have covertly aided the Kurds, both historically and more recently. But increasing Iranian influence in Kurdistan has forced Israel to pull at least some of their agents out, because their Kurdish friends could no longer guarantee their safety. It's hard to change geography. Demography is more plastic…But it's the Arabs themselves who are freely applying terror to expel the Arab population from Syria. The Israelis are doing their best not to touch the tar baby. |

Not to forget that an Israeli intervention above arty or air strikes will instantly put every Sunni and Shia feud on hold to kill the Great Satan Zionists. |
